Seedstock EDGE is the official publication of the National Swine Registry. Published nine times a year, Seedstock EDGE is the primary communication between NSR and its members. The National Swine Registry (NSR) formed in 1994 as a result of the consolidation of the American Yorkshire Club, the Hampshire Swine Registry and the United Duroc Swine Registry. In January 1998, the American Landrace Association joined the National Swine Registry. These four breed organizations are located in one central office in West Lafayette, Ind. NSR offers two summer internships – one NSR Communications internship and one National Junior Swine Association internship. The NSR Communications intern’s duties will include developing concepts and design for advertisements and editorial content for Seedstock EDGE. The intern will also contribute to the design, layout and content of two NSR newsletters, “For the Record” and “The Pinnacle,” and will assist with writing and distributing press releases about NSR events. Responsibilities for the NJSA intern will include: assisting with junior shows and events, assisting with preparing “The Pinnacle” and other promotional materials; handling in-office correspondence with NJSA members; preparing for events at the fall regional shows; and other duties as assigned. Applications are typically available in November and are due Feb. 1.
