Cheryl Oxley announces her retirement after 31 years
- Wednesday 24th of February 2010 10:36 AM

Congratulations to Cheryl Oxley who has just announced her retirement from Angus Productions Inc. effective April 30, 2010. She has been an integral part of API and also has been extremely involved in LPC. She is a member of the LPC Hall of Fame, has served more than her share of years on the board of directors and also went through the executive process eventually serving as president in 1995-96. She says "It's been a decision a long time in the deciding. It's time."  She is ready to spend more time with her family and plans to pursue other endeavors in teaching and in community and church work. I just spoke to her and she is very excited about looking ahead to everything that she has put off for years. She also said she was glad that she'll get invited back to the summer company picnic! Congratulations Cheryl on a good life. Here's one of my favorite pictures of her.

Cheryl's must be considered one of the most productive and decorated careers in livestock publishing history. She is truly an inspiration and role model for those of us in the business. Congratulations to Cheryl on her pending retirement. I hope she will continue to be involved in LPC and remain connected to all of her proteges!

Congratulations Cheryl! You were such an inspiration to me as an Angus Journal intern (and still today). Your dedication, zeal and enthusiasm will always be a fond memory of my summer in St.Joseph. We need your continued wisdom and experience in LPC - I look forward to many more opportunities to learn from you!
